Cozy Cat with Edward Gorey's signature on the back. Adapted in low relief from an Edward Gorey drawing for Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliot. Gorey created all of the drawings for the 1982 edition of this book of poems on cats, on which the musical, Cats, was based. In the complete drawing, this reserved and quizzical cat is resting on an elaborate tuffet on a page at the end of the chapter entitled "The Naming of Cats".
